MOUNTED ARCHERY

WE RIDE TO FLY. TO FEEL. TO TOUCH. TO BREATHE. TO LAUGH. TO SOAR. TO OVERCOME. TO RELAX. TO PROVE THEM WRONG. TO BELONG. TO FEEL STRONG. TO HEAL. TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED BACK. TO COMMUNICATE WITHOUT WORDS. WE RIDE TO LIVE!
-Elleneinkauf

COURAGE IS BEING SCARED TO DEATH, BUT SADDLING UP ANYWAY! - John Wayne
Mounted Archery is the perfect and natural alliance between horse, rider, bow, and arrow all going forward with definite energy and with the same purpose. It is a mastermind between horse and warrior, it is a passion, a meditation, a way of being.

Since using a bow requires the rider to let go of the reins with both hands, horse archers need superb equestrian skills if they are to shoot on the move. The natives of large grassland areas used mounted archery for hunting, for protecting their herds, and for war. Mounted archery was for many groups a basic survival skill, and additionally made each able-bodied person, at need, a highly-mobile warrior.

A skilled Mountain Archer prioritises the relationship between them and their horse. They strive to be better not solely for themselves or other people, but for the horse's life, their devotion, honesty, and caring spirit. The perfect team of horse and rider is attuned to the needs of each other making communication between species simpler.

"Horses will test you. Horses will teach you. Horses will bring out the best in you."
